In the Assisted Dying Laws debate in Westminster Hall on Thursday, Rutland and Melton's Member of Parliament, Alicia Kearns, spoke out on behalf of her constituent Phil Newby who has pursued his right to die through the High Court.
Ms Kearns laid out her support for a change in the law "after widespread governmental and non-governmental consultation" and called for the changes to "balance the rights of those seeking dignity in dying with our obligations to protect the most vulnerable and the rights of healthcare practitioners".
