Alicia Kearns MP has officially opened Support and Connections new centre located at Tungsten Park in Oakham.
Support and Connections is an organisation that offers a day service for adults with disabilities focusing on independence, confidence and personal development. A wide range of inclusive and person-centred activities are run from Support and Connection’s Melton base and their new Oakham base.
Attendees of the Open Day included service users, family members, healthcare professionals and members of the public interested in hearing more about the service.
The opening provided the opportunity for guests to learn more about the services on offer, meet the team and see firsthand how Support and Connections supports individuals in developing their skills and confidence.
Alicia Kearns, Member of Parliament for Rutland and Stamford, said:
“The wet weather did little to dampen spirits for the opening of this incredible space which will be used and enjoyed by so many for years to come.
“This wonderful service is exactly what we need in our county, giving adults with additional needs the support they need to become more independent, confident and gain additional skills.
“Thank you to Deb and her team at Support & Connections for all their hard work to make this a reality, and to Mowbray Workspace Solutions for partnering with Support and Connections and hosting them in an amazing venue.”
