Alicia Kearns MP has been named as ‘Overall MP of the Year’ at the Patchwork Foundation’s MP of the Year Awards.
The awards celebrate the work of MPs from across the country who actively work with underrepresented and disadvantaged communities across the UK, upholding the ethos and values of the Patchwork Foundation.
The winning MPs are nominated by members of the public or grassroots community organisations and selected by an independent panel of judges who blind judge the nominees by considering the work and accolades of the selected MPs.
MPs from across the country, constituents, Patchwork Alumni and participants, community leaders, MP’s staff and family members came together to celebrate the nominees and award winners at the awards ceremony at the Speakers House in Parliament last week (Wednesday 27th November).
Alicia Kearns MP, Member of Parliament for Rutland and Stamford, said:
"I’m enormously honoured by this award. As an MP you have the extraordinary privilege of being able to touch people’s lives, and my thanks go to the people of Rutland and Stamford for putting their trust in me and giving me the opportunity to do work that can change people’s lives every day.
“Making a real difference to people’s lives is why I do what I do. This award is also for my amazing team, without whom I couldn’t serve our communities.
“Thank you Patchwork and to everyone who nominated me from across the country.”
