Rutland and Melton MP Alicia Kearns has welcomed that Highways England has now completed its site survey of the A52 junction at Bottesford which Alicia requested they undertake.
The site survey is a crucial first step in examining the specific developments needed to maximise the efficiency and safety of the junction – with results to be made public shortly.
Ms Kearns, who was elected on a commitment to improve local transport infrastructure has been working with key stakeholders such as Highways England, alongside neighbouring MPs and Local Authorities to both improve the safety of and reduce pressure on the busy junction on the A52 at Bottesford.
Rutland and Melton MP, Alicia Kearns, said:
“Residents have quite rightly had enough of this treacherous junction, and this site survey is a promising sign that their concerns are being taken seriously. I await the survey’s findings and then the next steps is proposals to make the junction safer.”
“In the meantime, I’ll continue my work to reduce pressure on the A52 and hope residents will kindly assist me in responding to my survey on Bottesford’s railway provision.”
Since her election, the Rutland and Melton MP has worked to reduce pressure on the A52 at Bottesford by improving train services locally too. She submitted a bid for the Department of Transport’s ‘Restore Your Railway Fund’ – which seeks to make the poacher train line at Bottesford more reliable and efficient.
The Rutland and Melton MP continues her work to improve the whole of her area’s transport connectivity, including the A1 and the Melton Mowbray Distributor Road.
