There is an outbreak of COVID-19 at HMP Stocken. My thoughts are particularly with staff who have worked so hard during the pandemic and kept HMP Stocken COVID free for all of 2020.
The Governor and his team have my full support and confidence that they will get this outbreak which was not of their making, under control.
I raised the issue with the Lord Chancellor last night to urge him to give every support to Governor and his team, and I will speak to the Ministry of Justice and Ministers again later this week.
I'm also enormously grateful to staff at HMP Stocken for their efforts to support our community during the pandemic.
