Thankfully, I am pleased to report that cases are falling since last week in Rutland and in Melton Borough. Unfortunately, they continue to rise rapidly in other parts of the UK, in particular the South East and nearby East of England.
There is no change to our tiering locally on Boxing Day, but large parts of the country are having to respond to the mutation of the virus moving to higher tiers at 00.01 on Boxing Day, including nearby Northamptonshire.
Also, anyone in the UK who has been in South Africa in the last fortnight and anyone who has been a close contact of someone who's been in South Africa in the past two weeks must quarantine immediately. A mutation of the virus from South Africa is enormously concerning.
