The Government has today announced funding for Leicestershire and Rutland to support social care staff this Winter.
Leicestershire is set to receive £33,173,679 in funding and Rutland will receive £1,792,854 in funding.
The money can be used flexibly based on our local need, including to increase the fees given to care providers
Alicia Kearns, Member of Parliament for Rutland and Melton, said:
"This is brilliant news for our communities, and will provide a significant boost to support our local social care workforce, increase capacity in social care, and in turn support the NHS.
"Building a stronger care system will not only help to better meet care needs around the country, but this will also help prevent admission to hospital and support patients to be discharged from hospital more quickly."
This announcement is part of the Government's £600m package to help with recruitment and retention in social care this Winter.
