Rutland and Melton MP Alicia Kearns has welcomed yet more Government funding to bolster Rutland and Melton’s culture and ensure it can thrive long after the pandemic.
Local events company Sympotech LTD has been awarded £120,000 from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport’s (DCMS) Culture Recovery Fund to help the businesses keep operating and retain staff throughout the pandemic.
Ms Kearns is a Parliamentary Private Secretary to DCMS and has been working hard in recent weeks to deliver the landmark £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund.
Rutland and Melton MP, Alicia Kearns, said:
“ I am pleased that yet another local organisation is set to benefit from our Culture Recovery Fund and are now in a stronger position to weather the COVID-19 storm.
“ This remarkable fund proves the scale and scope of Government support for our culture, and I am proud to have worked on delivering it as PPS to DCMS.”
On top of this just last week, 6 local organisations received a share of £634,100 to support local culture, and the week before saw Rutland benefit from over £200,000 to bolster local heritage. These awards were possible due to the Culture Recovery Fund.
