Significant progress on the Melton Mowbray Distributor Road (MMDR) continued throughout June.
Work in June included:
- The completion of plant crossing points at Scalford Road and Melton Spinney
- WPD/NG power diversion works on Nottingham Road completed
- Overhead power cables and water main diversion at the railway bridge finished
- Main site compound installed and car park surfaced
- Haul road works at sections 1 and 2 completed
Alicia Kearns MP, Member of Parliament for Rutland and Melton said:
"After over 40 years of being promised this road, it's by no means been a smooth-sailing journey, but it's fantastic to now see works on the MMDR well underway!"
Please be aware of the following traffic management plans for July:
- Temporary traffic lights on the A606 Nottingham Road at the junction of St Bartholomews Way will remain in place for a further few weeks between 9.30am-3.30pm
- Sawgate Road will be closed until safe to reopen - the Lag Lane diversion route accommodates this closure and clear diversion signs will be in place
