In Melton:
All residents over 80 years old have now been offered the vaccine.
All eligible care homes have been visited and residents and staff offered the vaccine, and a large proportion of housebound patients have received their first vaccination.
All local practice staff and some pharmacy staff have had their first vaccination.
In Rutland:
A first vaccination has been given to 94.7% of patients aged over 80, and 93.5% of those aged between 75-79 and 25.7% of those aged 70-74.
Also, residents of all 11 care homes have been offered a first vaccination, and approximately 800 health and social care staff have been vaccinated.
In both Rutland and Melton patients over 70 years old and those defined as clinically extremely vulnerable are now being invited to vaccination.
I await an update for Harborough.
This is a fantastic achievement and I’m enormously grateful to everyone working so very hard. We will continue to see an increase in vaccinations as more and more of the vaccine is provided to us locally.
Some residents are registered with GP practices in other parts of Leicestershire, Nottingham, Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire and therefore will be invited to vaccination in those areas.
