When I was elected I committed to do all I can to ensure we secured a second GP surgery for Melton. Hard work behind the scenes continues, and I'm very grateful to Melton Borough Council and our CCG for their commitment and efforts to progress the surgery which is so urgently needed. I secured the Prime Minister's backing for a new surgery last February and have been speaking to Health Ministers regularly on the issue. This week I have written to the CCG regarding potential contracting models and the importance of a new Practice for Melton. I hope that we can make more progress in the coming months to deliver this vital infrastructure for our community.
