Planning permission has been given for Rutland's first MRI scanner which will be located at Oakham Enterprise Park.
Alicia Kearns, MP for Rutland and Melton said:
"I am delighted that the MRI scanner has now been given planning permission - another important step in the process to deliver an MRI scanner for Rutland.
"Rutland County Council, Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Patient Care Locally, the Integrated Care Board, and I have been working together to secure this vital piece of equipment, which will provide a huge boost for diagnostic services locally.
"We currently have no MRI facility within Rutland, so this unit is so important to help cut down waiting times and reduce the distance members of our communities have to travel for routine scans and appointments."
