On a visit to Bottesford General Practice (GP), Alicia Kearns MP met with James Thompson, GP and Clinical Partner, and Simon Richardson who together run the Welby Group.
Alicia met with James and Simon to discuss estates, future proofing funding and how they support our local communities.
Alicia was shown around the Group hub, which houses a growing team of specialists and centralised support for the Welby Group.
The Welby Group have made significant investments in primary care locally, with 180 staff and 30 clinicians in Bottesford alone. The Group have also extended Bottesford GP three times in the last three years, without any funding support from NHS England.
Alicia Kearns MP, Member of Parliament for Rutland and Melton said:
"We are very fortunate to have The Welby Group locally, they are a real asset to our local primary care services.
“It was a pleasure to meet with James and Simon, who are leading the way in providing high-quality patient-centric care to so many members of our communities. Their innovation and desire to improve health services for patients is truly admirable and should set an example to practices across the country.”
The Welby Group is made up of four practices spread over Lincolnshire, serving 35,000 patients in total. The Group is aiming to change the way primary care is delivered today, providing high quality care in the most effective way for each patient.
