At the Liaison Committee, as Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee Alicia Kearns MP urged the Prime Minister to create a Special Envoy for the Middle East Peace Process. The situation in Israel and Palestine is extremely serious and requests urgent attention.
Alicia also urged the Prime Minister to commit to rejoin EUFOR, and lobby for for an expansion of KFOR's mandate in Kosovo. Alicia highlighted that there has been a clear international failure of deterrence in the Western Balkans, and urgent action is needed to guarantee peace and security for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
On Ukraine, Alicia asked the Prime Minister to press ahead with a Security Guarantee from allied nations for Ukraine, followed by a clear path to membership for our Ukrainian allies at the upcoming Vilnius Summit.
Finally, Alicia called upon the Prime Minister to ensure he uses this opportunity to try and focus international efforts on de-escalation in Israel and Palestine.
