In a Westminster Hall Debate on raising the Approved Mileage Allowance from 45p/per mile to 60p/per mile, Peter Gibson MP raised concerns on Alicia Kearns MP's behalf.
Alicia Kearns MP, Member of Parliament for Rutland and Melton said:
"The rurality of our communities across Rutland, Melton, the Vale and Harborough villages presents a unique set of challenges, and I know that we have many incredible carers and NHS community workers who use their personal cars to drive to look after our elderly residents.
"A rise in the rate from 45p to 60pm per mile would make a huge difference to so many of our healthcare professionals who give up their time to look after members of our community with such compassion and understanding.
"Rest assured, I will continue to lobby the Government on this as it is something I strongly feel should be changed."
