Five members of the Melton Matters Wombles recently visited Westminster for a tour of Parliament and to discuss local environmental issues with Alicia Kearns MP.
Alicia Kearns, Member of Parliament for Rutland and Melton said:
"It was a pleasure to host the Melton Wombles for a tour of Parliament, and of course their Womble mascot! It was such fun to speak to them, and also to discuss how they feel we can all take action to protect our environment.
"The Melton Matters Wombles do the most amazing work clearing rubbish in and around Melton - last year they cleared 2,462 bags of rubbish and countless larger items. I am so grateful to this amazing team of amazing people who give up their time to keep our beautiful countryside free from rubbish."
