Alicia Kearns MP has secured an Adjournment Debate in Parliament on the safety of the A1 on Monday 29th July.
Alicia Kearns, Member of Parliament for Rutland and Stamford, said:
"I’m really pleased to have secured an Adjournment Debate at the end of this month to discuss the urgent safety upgrades needed on the A1.
"Nearly 1,000 collisions were recorded on the A1 between Peterborough and Blythe between 2015 to 2022. This cannot continue.
"I was relieved to secure five safety upgrades between the Tinwell Junction and the Colsterworth Interchange, but I have more I want to do.
"After a recent meeting with National Highways, they confirmed to me that they are reviewing the dangerous A1 central reservation crossings. I will wait to see what this safety review recommends, but in the meantime this debate is an important opportunity to raise our community’s concerns in Parliament.
"Please do let me know your views on how we can make the A1 safer via my survey, so I can share your feedback with ministers during my debate: www.aliciakearns.com/surveys"
