Vaccinations at Leicester General begin Saturday.
People aged 80 and over as well as care home workers will be first to receive the vaccine along with NHS workers who are at higher risk
Invitations to attend have already started going out - please wait to hear, no action is needed. You will hear by letter or text message.
Vaccinations for people in the wider community and outside of hospitals will start being delivered the week after next in Leicestershire and Rutland along with the rest of the country.
This wider vaccination delivery will take place either in local hubs in Oakham and Melton or by a GP practice in your Primary Care Network depending on where you live in Rutland and Melton. The sites are already designated for the hubs, and the majority of our population will be vaccinated at these centres rather than within GP practices.
This is an evolving situation so it may change before roll-out begins and once further deliveries of the vaccine arrive in 2021.
