Brooksby Melton College is one of only 16 colleges across the country identified by the Government for priority funding to transform their buildings and facilities!
This is fantastic news for this wonderful college. It is absolutely vital that the Government invests in colleges which specialise in vocational training, and Brooksby is stand out, particularly in its land-based and performance arts courses and the exceptional results it supports students to achieve.
Chief Executive and Principal Dawn Whitemore said:
“The Prime Minister has really provided us with a once in a lifetime opportunity to ensure we have facilities that are fit for purpose - enabling us to create a sustainable educational proposition.
“This means we can then concentrate all of our efforts, and play our role, in developing the skilled workforce that our country needs, whilst enriching the learning experience for our students.
“This announcement is just brilliant for our staff, students and stakeholders, particularly after the last 12 months.”

“I have been pushing for more investment in vocational education and I’m delighted that this funding will support Melton Brooksby to upgrade and revitalise their buildings and estate.”
Apprenticeships and Skills Minister Gillian Keegan said:
“As we build back better, it is vital our colleges continue to be great places to learn with excellent facilities.
“It is fantastic news that we are launching the next phase of this transformation programme, working collaboratively with a small number of colleges that are some of the most in need of support to upgrade and revitalise their estates.
“Our priority is making sure every student receives high quality education and training, no matter where they live, so they can gain the skills they need to progress into work and help the economy to rebuild and grow.”
