Labour has voted to cut the Winter Fuel Payments for 10 million pensioners, and an expected 20,800 pensioners in Rutland, Stamford, and the Harborough and South Kesteven Villages.

With news from Ofgem that the energy price gap will increase by 10% this winter, it means some of the most vulnerable in our society will be hit hardest by both the increasing cost of bills and at the same time a reduction in their income.

I have called on the Government to delay changes by at least a year to ensure pensioners have time to plan for next Winter, and to protect Winter Fuel Support for all pensioners living with life-limiting or chronic conditions, who often have higher energy bill costs than others.

Please do sign my petition below calling on the Government to reconsider the decision to cut Winter Fuel Payments.
